Diesel Truck Mechanic

Diesel Fleet Mechanic

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other minor duties may be assigned.

 

  • Ability to perform complex repairs and maintenance functions, both on site and on the road.

  • Performs preventative maintenance on a scheduled basis as determined

  • Chassis components repairs and maintenance;

  • Air and hydraulic braking systems;

  • Engine repair and maintenance;

  • Suspension, drive-train and steering systems;

  • Heating and air conditioning systems;

  • Maintenance welding and fabrication;

  • Identify the source of the malfunctions using variety of electronic tools

  • Trouble shoots and repairs mechanical malfunctions.

  • Repairs engines, drive trains, front and rear ends, all air, electrical and hydraulic systems on Company owned equipment.

  • Repairs all items not meeting D.O.T. requirements; informs supervisor if not immediately repairable.

  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned or apparent

 

 

 

Yellow Iron Mechanic

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other minor duties may be assigned.

  • Repairs as needed equipment (including, but not limited to, bulldozers, scrapers, backhoes, front end loaders, asphalt paving machines, milling machines)

  • Diagnoses and repairs differentials, hydraulic systems, motors, transmissions, drives, air conditioning systems, and electrical systems.

  • Services and maintains other equipment such as light plants, water pump, welders, and other equipment.

  • Performs repairs and assigned preventive maintenance services. Performs inspections, diagnosis and repair of electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake and air systems on vehicles and equipment.

  • Utilizes equipment computer electronics systems to interpret failure modes to initiate or assign repairs.

  • Performs maintenance related work as required.

  • Maintains a clean, safe work area in compliance with corporate and OSHA standards.

  • Performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures.

  • Ability to effectively communicate needed repairs or tasks.

  • Performing other duties as assigned.
