Job Description
Concrete Finisher 

Department:   Concrete Department

Job Status:   Part Time/ Full Time

FLSA Status:   Hourly

Reports To:   Supervisor

Grade/Level:   Non-Supervision

Amount of Travel Required >80 miles:  15%

Work Schedule:  Possible 7 days a week; up to 60-70 hours per week. Majority of shifts are days, but occasional night shifts are possible.


POSITION SUMMARY

Perform tasks involving physical labor on roadway construction projects, parking lots, etc. May use hand come a longs, rakes during concrete pours. May handle traffic control equipment such as grab cones, barrels and/or road signs. Cones and barrels are less than 10 lbs., clean up roadway, rubble and debris.

Essential Functions Statement(s)

  • Clean and prepare construction sites to eliminate possible safety hazards.
     

  • Control traffic passing near, in, and around work zones.
     

  • Signal equipment operators to facilitate alignment, movement, and adjustment of machinery, equipment, and materials.  
     

  • Load, unload, and identify building materials, machinery, and tools, and distribute them to the appropriate locations, according to project plans and specifications.
     

  • Erect and disassemble concrete forms and other concrete pouring materials.
     

  • Smooth and finish freshly poured concrete with finishing tools.
     

  • Monitor pumps, compressors, and generators to provide power for tools, machinery, and equipment, or to heat and move materials such as asphalt.
     

  • Shovel and spread concrete in front of concrete paver.
